Gallagher. Disney. McLuhan.
Perhaps the only good thing about Gallagher's Steakhouse (Since 1927) at Newark International Airport is that it prepares and conditions you as you take the trip to the realm that is Orlando. In Orlando nothing is real, everything is theme, and culture is derivative, diluted, and dull. In a way though it was fitting that the replication, simulation and simulacra of Orlando enveloped the yoke of the next phase of electronic extensions: media technologies being sold on the InfoComm trade show floor that continue to build the hyperreality in which we increasingly exist.
Check out the close-up of the display window of Gallagher's and other Flickr pictures from InfoComm 06 in Orlando.
